Car lovers like their ride to look sparkling all the time. Whether you wash your car yourself or you take it to a car wash in your neighborhood, the water used to freshen up your car contains elements that can corrode the surface, windshield and windows of your car; leaving traces of water spots that can tarnish the shiny paint coat of your wheels. Car owners should learn the basic hard water removal to keep the car in tip top look. There are some things to remember before you start the process of removing contaminants attached all over your car.
There are some places or instances that your car may be exposed to hard water. The first thing you should do to begin with hard water removal, if water spots are unavoidable, is to catch sight of the spots. Water spots are easy to see. Wiping off these spots immediately can prevent unwanted dents or discoloration of your car paint.
Spending some time to wipe off all the water marks left after washing, or even right after your wheels left the car wash dryer will help reduce the demand for water removal. Proper drying is important to protect your ride’s sparkling looks.
Time also plays an important role in proper hard water removal. The best time to deal with hard water removal is late in the afternoon as the temperature during this time is cooler. You can also park your car in a shaded area and let the surface of the car cool off before starting any process of water removal. If your car is exposed under the sun, hard water removal may be difficult to accomplish and the minerals of hard water that you want to eliminate will puncture your paint coat.
You can make a solution for hard water removal by mixing equal amount of water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Drizzle the car body with the solution and wipe it off with a fine clean cloth. Buff it with wax after using water and vinegar solution as it removes the gloss of your paint. You may also go to a car detailing shop, if you can afford it. They can provide hard water removal services. They have the products and tools that can remove stains properly.
Wipe the spots on window glass with a fine grade of steel wool. Rub carefully to avoid damaging the glass.
